New publication by Janika Bourgeois in the Journal of Fluids Engineering

Congratulations to Janika Bourgeois and the Heki “Bubble” team, whose work on the controlled generation of cavitation bubbles with electrodes has just been published in the Journal of Fluids Engineering. The paper deals with the repeatability of the maximum bubble diameter and the peak pressure generated by their collapse. Using high-speed visualizations and pressure measurement at an adjacent wall, the study shows that the length of the electrodes past their contact point significantly impacts the maximum bubble diameter. However, the time it takes for the electrodes to break after a discharge has a greater influence on the maximum pressure measured. Janika is continuing this work as part of a PhD project she started in the fall of 2023.
