New publication by Mònica Egusquiza in the journal Measurement

Mònica Egusquiza, from the Centre for Industrial Diagnostics and Fluid Dynamics at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (CDIF-UPC), has recently published a paper in collaboration with Heki. Using measurements carried out on the Tr-Francis model at Université Laval, this study demonstrates that the natural frequencies of Francis turbine runners in operation undergo a splitting phenomenon and that frequencies shift when measured from the casing. This was experimentally observed and analytically demonstrated in a disk by the CDIF-UPC in 2015 (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jsv.2014.10.032). This research enhances our understanding of how resonances in hydraulic turbines can be triggered and detected using stationary sensors.
